INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS HELD ON 09TH MARCH 2021.
Mrs.K.Jothi Lakshmi, Inspector of Police, W-30 All Women Police Station, Poonamalllee, Chennai delivered webinar on the topic “Social Awareness for Women” as part of the International women’s day program organized by the Women Empowerment Cell, Sriram Engineering College. In her speech she emphasized the role of Women and the purpose of celebration of International Women’s day. She has explained about SOS kavalan App brought out by Tamilnadu police for women during an emergency. She has discussed about child crime acts and also the crime rates in India. She also said that if a legal issue is identified by the people it is the duty of the citizens to approach a local police station and file a case. Now women have empowered themselves and they can balance their professional and personal life. The program truly turned out to be an inspiring element to the women folks of the Sriram Educational Institutions at Veppampattu.
The session started with the welcome Address by Dr.G.Suganya, Convener-WEC and Miss.S.Keerthiga, IV-Year, Mechanical Engineering Member –WEC introduced the Guest Speaker. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Miss. M. Sai Deepika, IV-Year, Electronics and Communication Engineering.
