National Service Scheme was started during the year 1997. Our college is having two units of NSS team, each team have 100 NSS volunteers. The NSS units have been conducting various welfare programme and other activities in and around the city. The most recent one being Dengue fever awareness programme conducted at Veppampattu village on 28.11.13 along with the health department and village people. The Volunteers met the village people and went door to door creating awareness among the people to eradicate the mosquitoes. About 15,000 people were benefited from the awareness program.

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Sriram Engineering College jointly conducted a blood donation camp at their Campus on 13.02.2018, in association with Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, Chennai.
The Director (Academics) and Principal, inaugurated the camp by 10.00 a.m. A total of 125 donors had donated their blood during the camp.
The NSS Unit of Sriram Engineering College has conducted a special programme on “Nilavembu Herbal Drink” to bring awareness among the students to prevent diseases like Malaria, Dengue fevers, etc. In the college campus on 20.09.2017 at 10.00 a.m. Around 300 students participated in this programme.
