A Report Summary on the National Conference on
â€œPOWER AND ENERGY SYSTEMSâ€ (NCPES2K19)
The National Conference on â€œPower and Energy Systemsâ€ (NCPES2k19) held in Sriram engineering college on 6th March 2019 brought together 120 participants from various engineering colleges in and around chennai. This was a one day national conference hosted by the department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The Conference brought together various representatives of many institutions, academicians and research scholars.
Authors are invited to submit their original and unpublished research article in the following areas
More than 50 scientific papers were received from the authors, from various institutions. As a result two technical sessions have been prepared for presenting the papers in accordance with conference scope to discuss the challenges, opportunities and their new ideas in relevance to their field. Students from different institutions addressed to audience and shared knowledge and rich experience of application of their findings.
The Inauguration started with tamizhthaivaazthu. As a mark of our tradition and culture, the dignitaries lighted the kuthuvillaku.
The conference was launched with warm welcoming address from the Professor & Head of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Dr.P.Saravanan stating the importance and identity of this conference. A brief overview of the conference is given by Ms.S.Angeline Priyadarshini, Assistant Professor of EEE department emphasizing on tasks involved in the successful completion of the conference. Dr.S.R.Kannan, Principal, Sriram Engineering College delivered the felicitation address. He congratulated the department for their team work in pursuing all the
conference related work and wished them a grand success. He also encouraged the students to urge and learn to make themselves competent to this fast growing world. It is followed by the introduction of chief guest by Mrs.I.Dhanabharathi, Assistant Professor of EEE. Dr.S.R.Kannan, Principal, Sriram Engineering College honored the chief guest with a shawl and memento. Mr.R.Ravisekar, Superintending Engineer & Head (Electrical), CSIR- Central Leather Research Institute, focused on the transformative power of the students for beneficial applications. He insisted that the youth should inculcate creative ideas and aim to become entrepreneurs. He also quoted that students should compete with other country findings and come out with their own laws and findings. He pinpointed several instances in his experience and motivated the young minds. He also informed that he will extend his support for the students in their placements, in-plant trainings and internship in CSIR. This is followed by the special event of the day, Conference Proceedings is released by the chief guest and the copies were received by the Principal, HoD and the coordinator. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms.T.Yogapriya, Assistant Professor of EEE. On behalf of the department of Electrical and Electronics & Engineering, the hosting department, she extended her gratitude to the College Management, Principal, HoD, Chief Guest, and Organizing Committee members for their overwhelming support and guidance. The conference came to end with the National Anthem.

Followed by the refreshment the forenoon session of paper presentation was started and Dr.N.Sankar Ram, Professor of Computer science Engineering was invited as Session Chair. The Participants presented their findings and discussion was made in each presentation.

After all presentations, the best paper award (cash Rs.750) was given to Ms.Sai Sravya of RMD Engineering College and the certificates are distributed to all the participants by Dr.P.Saravanan, Professor & Head of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
He congratulated the hosting department for the successful conduct of conference.
