Central Library:

Sriram Engineering College Central Library is the soul of the institution and it acquires, processes, preserves and disseminates information to the user community with the motto of empowering knowledge. It is established in 1993. It is located next to the main auditorium building in a vast area of 650(Sq M). The Library and Information Centre consists of a Reference Section, Circulation Section, Periodical Section, New Arrival Book Section, Book Bank Section, Question Bank Section and the Digital Library. The Library is well protected with fire alarms & CCTV security system.
In this fully automated Library, students and staff members can search the books by Author, Title, Acc No, Publisher or subject heading and their availability. Each student is given 4 Library books at a time and four books are given to each staff. Library hour is scheduled for students every week in their Time Table.

The Central Library of Sriram Engineering College is a registered institutional member of DELNET, NDLI and NPTEL.

Sriram Engineering College Quality Policy

Sriram is committed to providing excellent academic atmosphere for its students to develop their personalities, skill sets and knowledge required for an exciting career. We shall strive continually to progressively develop our students, seeking broad avenues of learning to face the challenging and emerging needs of our society. Sriram will be a ‘torch-bearer’ for knowledge and wisdom.

Library-rules And Regulations

  • The Library will be kept open on all working days from 8.30 AM to 4.00 PM
  • All Students, Teaching and Non-Teaching staffs are members of the Library.
  • Books will be lent to the members only against Borrower’s Bar Coding Library Card. All the UG & PG Students will be given 4 Books. Bar Coding Library Card must be under the careful custody of the members, whose name is there on the card, and is not transferable.
  • The members shall be responsible for any book borrowed against that card.
  • The members have to inform to the Librarian immediately, if the Bar Coding Library Card/Book is lost.
  • Borrowers are responsible for the loss or damaged books.
  • Every book will be examined when it is returned and if any book is found to be marked, spoiled or damaged the borrower shall be required to replace the book with a new copy or pay double the cost of the book.
  • A student is entitled to keep a book for 15 days from the date of issue. Every book borrowed from the Library shall be returned on the due date marked on the due date slip before 4.00 PM.
  • All members should return the borrowed books for a period of one week to enable verification of stocks during the academic year as and when instructed by the Principal.
  • If books are not returned to the Library on the due date, a fine of Rs. 1/- per book per shall be levied. Absence from the college shall not be an excuse for any delay in returning the books.

Special Features of Central Library

  • At the Central Library, we use the E-gate entry: it serves the Library users when users approach the e- gate, their identities are verified through scanner methods, and their relevant information is displayed on the computer.
  • Librarians ensure the best possible information services.
  • Standard texbooks and books by well-known authors are stocked and every effort is made to obtain all titles recommended by the faculty members.
  • Multiple copies of popular books are bought to make them available to as many students as possible.
  • All students and faculty of the college are eligible for the membership of the Library.
  • The Autolib software is used for Library automation.
  • All the books are bar coded in the Library& barcode laser scanners are used in the circulation counter for book transactions.
  • The Library area is under CCTV surveillance.
