WEBINAR ON “OPEN STACK AND CLOUD MONITORING TOOLS”

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Sriram Engineering College, organized an online webinar on the topic “Open Stack and Cloud Monitoring Tools” on 6^th June 2022. The session was started at 11.00 a.m. with a warm welcome by Mrs.K.Sudha, Head  CSE & AIDS, followed by Mrs.U.Jothi Lakshmi, AP/AI&DS introducing the Resource Person – Mrs. P.S.Apirajitha, Teaching Fellow, Department of IST, CEG, Anna University, Chennai. The speaker started on with Open stack, explained it from scratch, discussed in detail about component of open stack, listed out the commercial product available in market similar to Open Stack both premium and open source. She highlighted the advantages of Open Stack over other commercial products. The details of installation of open stack in Linux machine were also illustrated in presentation as screen shots by which even a novice could easily install and use open stack. It was really interesting to know that IBM uses open stack as its service provider. Finally, the speaker differentiated OPEN STACK with its counterpart in the market, the AWS.

After discussing in detail about OPEN STACK, the speaker switched to the topic Cloud Monitoring Tools. Here the speaker elaborated the needs of cloud monitoring tool and demonstrated how to monitor www.google.com via Pingdom – a cloud monitoring tool (an open source tool). The students betebet had a great day with an exposure to new tools that will help them in enhancing their career.
