Our Computer Science & Engineering department conducted the workshop on “Ethical Hacking†on 27-09-17.Mr.T.VinodSenthilCTO & MD of infySEC was the chief guest and Mr.Karthick of InfySecwas the Guest of Honor of the workshop.Participants from various colleges in and around tamilnaduparticipated in this workshop. The participants learned about how to scan, test, hack and secure their own systems.
The Chief guest explained about how intruders escalate privileges and what steps can be taken to secure a systemetc.,.and also delivered a live demonstration about some of the cyberattacks. Mr.Karthik from infySECexplained about the various certification courses available in the security sector.Finally the workshop ended with the certificate distribution to the participants.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is made on 25.09.2017 between Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Sriram Engineering College, Veppampattu, Chennai and Vertace Consultants, Chennai for the benefits of students community. Dr. S. R. Kannan, Principal, Sriram Engineering College and Mr. Vasanth Rajan, Chief Executive Officer of Vertace Consultants signed in the MOU.
A Seminar on selenium with Java? was conducted in our college for the benefit of the students of the computer science and engineering department. Mr.santhosh sundaramurthy from DXC. Technology [Formerly Hewlett Packard Enterprise], Bangalore came over to deliver this Seminar. He is also an alumni (2006-2010 Batch of CSE department) of our College. The program started at around 10.50 a.m. Mr. D.Hemanand, AP/CSE Introduced the Chief Guest of this seminar. Our beloved HoD Dr.S.Manikandan honoured the chief guest with the shield. Dr.N.Sankar Ram, Professor/CSE also added the flavour to this occasion. Then our chief guest started to give the seminar on selenium with Java. He gave an explanation about the versions of selenium and how to install it and work on it. He also gave various tips on interviews and expectations of companies. The first session of the seminar about the basics of java and selenium and after lunch we gathered in our CSE lab for an hands on experience on selenium. He explained how to install selenium firebug for Firefox etc., and then we were made to work on it. The session came to an end at 3.30 pm. The whole session was a very interesting and a knowledgeable session. we thank our HoD of our department for organising this seminar and our staff for coordinating and organising this seminar for us. All the staff members of CSE also attended.
Inauguration of Computer Science Engineers Association & Guest lecture on Recent Trends in Computing Technologies.
The Computer Science and Engineering Department has organized Association Inaugural function on 25/7/2017 at 10.30 am in College Mini auditorium. The chief guest Shri. Vasanth Rajan, CEO, Vertace Consultants inaugurated the function and delivered a guest lecture on Recent Trends in Computing Technologies. The guest was honoured by the HOD Dr. S. Manikandan and Professor Dr. N. Sankar Ram. The Office Bearers of Computer Science Engineers Association (President Mr. K. Dhayaneswar, General secretary Mr. O. Hemavardhan, Joint Secretary Mr. B. Prasanna, Treasurer Ms. C. H. Jahnavi and Joint Treasurer Ms. V. Sivaranjani) were introduced by Staff coordinator Mrs. K.R.S. Chandrakala. The chief guest Shri. Vasanth Rajan gave a lecture about the importance of programming, Recent developments in IOT, Chat Bot, Interview process and also encouraged of doing own individual projects.
