The NSS Unit of Sriram Engineering College organized the celebration of International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and participation on the college premises. The event was conducted to create awareness among students and faculty members about the importance of Yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. The celebration was organized in accordance with the global observance of International Yoga Day, embracing this year's theme, "Yoga for One Earth, One Health." The program witnessed the active participation of college administrators, faculty members, NSS volunteers, students, and distinguished Yoga practitioners.

The program commenced with a warm and cordial welcome by the Master of Ceremonies. The gathering included the respected Principal, Heads of Departments, faculty members, distinguished guests, NSS volunteers, and students. The audience was welcomed with an inspiring message emphasizing that true wealth lies in good health rather than material possessions. The significance of Yoga as a holistic practice that unites the body, mind, and soul was highlighted, setting a positive and energetic tone for the day's proceedings.

To invoke divine blessings and honor the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu, the program began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu. All the participants respectfully stood and rendered homage to the mother tongue. The solemn and dignified rendition created a sense of unity and cultural pride among everyone present.

Following the invocation, the Welcome Address was delivered by Mrs. P.Pavithra, Assistant Professor and Program Chair, Department of Cyber Security and NSS Coordinator. She warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and guests. In her address, she emphasized the importance of Yoga in the modern lifestyle and encouraged students to adopt Yoga as a regular practice to achieve a healthy and balanced life. She also appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers in organizing the event successfully.

The next segment of the program was the Principal's Address. The respected Principal Dr. B.R. Ramesh Bapu addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights regarding the relevance of Yoga in today's fast-paced world. The Principal stressed the need for physical fitness, mental resilience, and self-discipline among students. Highlighting Yoga as a powerful tool for enhancing concentration, reducing stress, and promoting overall well-being, the Principal encouraged students to incorporate Yoga into their daily routines to lead healthier and more productive lives.

Subsequently, Dr. P.Magesh, Head of the School, Computer Science and Engineering, addressed the audience. In his speech, he spoke about the significance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and the role of Yoga in achieving holistic development. He emphasized that Yoga not only strengthens the body but also improves mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual awareness. His motivating words inspired students to recognize the importance of balancing academic excellence with personal well-being.

A special highlight of the event was the Felicitation Ceremony for the distinguished Yoga experts who graced the occasion. The college had the honor of welcoming Mr. M.K. Srinivasan, Yoga Professor, and Mrs. Y. Leelavathi, Yoga Professor, as the chief guests. The dignitaries were felicitated with shawls and mementos as tokens of gratitude and respect. The ceremony reflected the institution's appreciation for their valuable contributions to promoting Yoga and healthy living in society.

Following the felicitation, an introduction to the chief guests was presented. Their dedication to spreading awareness about physical fitness, mental wellness, and healthy living through Yoga was highlighted.
