Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS)
  • Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) is a specialized four-year undergraduate engineering program leading to a B.Tech degree, designed in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services and All India Council for Technical Education.
  • The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems was established in 2023.
  • The curriculum integrates core computer science concepts with business management, analytics, finance, and emerging technologies to develop industry-ready professionals capable of addressing modern business and technological challenges.
  • The program emphasizes problem-solving, software development, data analytics, business processes, communication skills, and professional competencies required in the digital economy.
  • Students gain practical exposure through industry-oriented projects, internships, workshops, and value-added certification programs.
  • The department is committed to nurturing technically proficient and business-aware graduates who can contribute effectively to the IT industry and corporate sector.
  • The annual intake for the CSBS program is 30 students.

  • The Department is equipped with excellent infrastructure, including well-established laboratories, modern classrooms, a seminar hall, and a Centre of Excellence.
  • All laboratories are interconnected through a robust and seamless network with 300 Mbps internet connectivity, enabling students to access a wide range of web resources efficiently.
  • This infrastructure supports both the regular curriculum and emerging technological advancements, helping students stay current with industry trends.

INTERDISCIPLINARY CURRICULUM:

The core subjects of computer science are integrated with business systems under the program. The professional core course (CSE) accounts for 76% and Humanities and Social Science contribute for rest 24% in the program.

The curriculum is heavily interdisciplinary. Students take an equal balance of core tech subjects and business/management modules:

The II Year students from the departments of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI & DS), Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS), and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML) of Sriram Engineering College visited Cloudstier Solutions Private Limited, an IT services and software consulting company located in Tirupattur, on 13th March 2026.

The industrial visit provided students with valuable exposure to real-world industry practices and the latest advancements in information technology. During the visit, students gained insights into software development processes, cybersecurity practices, cloud technologies, data management, and the professional working environment followed in IT solutions and services companies.

The technical experts from the organization interacted with the students and shared their knowledge on current industry trends, career opportunities, and the essential technical skills required to succeed in the modern IT industry. The session helped students understand the practical implementation of academic concepts and emphasized the importance of innovation, teamwork, communication skills, and professional ethics in the corporate environment.

The visit served as an enriching learning experience that successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. It also motivated the students to enhance their technical knowledge, develop industry-oriented skills, and prepare themselves for future career opportunities in the IT sector.

Industrial Visit to I HUB Robotics

The III Year students of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI & DS), Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS), and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML) from Sriram Engineering College visited I Hub Robotics Private Limited Edappally, Ernakulam, Kerala on 07-02-2026 as part of an industrial visit organized by the institution.

The industrial visit provided students with valuable industrial exposure and practical knowledge about emerging technologies and real-time industrial applications. During the visit, students interacted with industry experts and gained insights into robotics, automation, embedded systems, Artificial Intelligence, IoT technologies, and software development processes.

The technical team at I Hub Robotics Private Limited explained various industry-oriented concepts, current technological trends, and innovative project developments. Students were able to understand the practical implementation of concepts learned in academics and the functioning of modern industrial environments.

The visit enhanced the students technical knowledge, professional skills, teamwork, and understanding of industrial practices. It also created awareness about career opportunities and industry expectations in the field of technology and innovation.

Sriram Engineering College expressed its sincere gratitude to the management and technical experts of I Hub Robotics Private Limited for providing the students with an informative and enriching learning experience.

E16AI Naan Mudhalvan Unity Hackathon

The School of Computer Science and Engineering comprising the departments of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI&DS), Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI&ML), Cyber Security, and Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) successfully conducted the E16AI – Naan Mudhalvan Unity Hackathon in collaboration with Naan Mudhalvan on 15-11-2025 at the CSE Block.

The event provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their innovation, creativity, and technical skills. Participants actively engaged in developing innovative solutions, demonstrating strong teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities throughout the hackathon.

The hackathon concluded successfully, fostering practical learning experiences and encouraging students to explore creative ideas and emerging technologies. The event also motivated participants to enhance their technical expertise and apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.

THINKFINITY HACKATHON 2K25

DATE OF THE EVENT: 29th September 2025

The Thinkfinity Hackathon 2K25, organized by the Logicvista Club of Sriram Engineering College, Perumalpattu – Chennai, in association with the School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE, AI&DS, AIML, CYS & CSBS), was held on 29th September 2025. The event brought together bright young innovators to work collaboratively on cutting-edge technologies under the theme “Where the Idea Meets Intelligent.”

With 54 teams from various engineering colleges across Tamil Nadu participating, the hackathon proved to be a remarkable platform for students to showcase creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical expertise.
