National-level Technical Symposium- KONSTRO 2K17

Department of Civil Engineering of Sriram Engineering College, Perumalpattu organized a One-day National-level Technical Symposium, KONSTRO 2K17 on 22^nd September, 2017. The inauguration was formally done by the Chief Guest Mr.C BALAMURUGAN, Assistant Executive Engineer, Tamil Nadu Public Works Department. Ms.R JAYANTHI, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering welcomed the gathering. Mr.S.MURALI KRISHNAN Head, Department of Civil Engineering took the privilege to introduce the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest detailed his speech about the jobs in Civil Engineering in Government sector and elaborated about importance of civil Engineers to our society. Dr .S. R. KANNAN, Principal honoured the chief guest and briefed about the work of Civil Engineers. Following the talk , Mr.I.Shawez., student President, delivered the vote of thanks.

Civil Engineering Department has organized Association Inaugural function on 03/08/2017 at 10.30 am in College Mini auditorium. The chief guest Dr.S.Elavenil M.Tech.,Ph.D professor & Head , Department of Civil Engineering, VIT University, Chennai has inaugurated the function and delivered a guest lecture on “Foundation Engineering”. The guest was honoured by the Principal Dr.S.R.Kannan. The Office Bearers of Association of Civil Engineers (President Mr.I.Shawez., General secretary Mr.P.G Roobash Kumar, Joint Secretary Mr. T.Surendar, Treasurer Mr. P.Praveen) were introduced by Faculty coordinator Ms.R.Jayanthi. Chief guest Dr.S.Elavenil gave a lecture about on “An overview of Foundation Engineering”

The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the academic year 2015-16 with an aim of promoting high quality education in the field of Civil Engineering. The department has well equipped laboratory facilities and highly qualified faculty members having rich experience in teaching and industrial background. The department is aiming to transform itself into a center of excellence in academic and research. The department provides a right kind of environment for the students to groom themselves for innovative and challenging near future.

The department currently offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree programme in Civil Engineering following the Anna University curriculum. The curriculum broadly covers the engineering subjects of related fields such as Surveying, Building materials & construction, Soil mechanics & Foundation engineering, Structural analysis & design, Hydraulics & Water resources engineering, Environmental engineering, Transportation and Coastal engineering.
