II Year B.E/B.Tech., Admissions (under Lateral Entry Scheme)

Candidates satisfying the following qualifying examination are eligible to Second Year Lateral Entry B.E/B.Tech., Degree Courses.

Qualifying Examination:

Diploma Candidates:

A pass with prescribed minimum eligibility marks in any one of the Diploma in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu / equivalent prescribed for admission the Degree Course.

B.Sc., Candidates:

A pass with prescribed minimum eligibility marks in any recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Science of minimum 3 years duration with 10+2+3 years pattern and studied core Mathematics as one of the subjects at degree level

Minimum Eligibility Marks :

Both Diploma and B.Sc., qualified candidates have to obtain the following minimum eligibility marks for admission to Lateral Entry as prescribed in G.O. Ms. No.81, Higher Education (J2) Department, dated 30.07.2020 and as per directions issued in Government Letter No.12226/J2/2020, Higher Education Department, dated.28.05.2020.

B.Sc., Candidates :

General Category (OC)	Passed B.Sc Degree from recognized University as defined by UGC, with ar least 45% marks and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
Backward Class/ Backward Class Muslim(BCM)/Most Backward Class(MBC)/ Denotified Communities/ Scheduled Caste(SC) / Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyars (SCA) / Scheduled Tribes(ST)	Passed B.Sc Degree from recognized University as defined by UGC, with ar least 40% marks and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.

Note:

1. When the candidates produce grade certificates, they have to produce the actual marks also otherwise only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the eligible subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Fourth Optional Subject) will be taken into account.

2.For minimum eligibility rounding of marks and normalized marks will not be considered.
