INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS HELD ON 08th MARCH 2022

International Women’s Day was celebrated on 8th March, 2022. The function was organized by the Women Empowerment Cell & NSS of Sriram Engineering College. The Chief Guest of the function was Mrs.S.Pandiammal, District Protection Officer – Domestic Violence ACT, District Social Welfare Office, Thiruvallur. She delivered a seminar on the topic “Women’s role in Family & Society”. She explained the importance of education of girls which acts as a safety barrier. She elucidated that women have innate power and strength which they need to bring out and achieve more. She also explained the purpose and the history of the celebration of International Women’s day on this day of March 8. She has explained various schemes applicable to women from Birth to Demise, Acts related to the safety of girl child and women & important helpline numbers for women protection. She distributed Prizes for the winners of competitions conducted on National Girl Child Day celebration. She thanked our Sriram Educational Trust for organizing such events. The program truly turned out to be an inspiring element to the women folks of the Sriram Engineering College, Perumalpattu.

The session started with the Welcome Address by Dr.G.Suganya, HOD incharge of Mechanical Engineering and Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) Convener and Mrs.R.Jayalakshmi, WEC member introduced the Chief Guest. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs.S.Bhuvana, Joint Convener – WEC.
