The Institute of Electronics and telecommunication Engineers (IETE)

IETE is the National Apex Professional body of Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer and IT Professionals. Govt of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, Dept of Science and Industrial Research has recognized IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization. IETE has also been notified as an educational institution of national eminence by Govt. of India. IETE was founded in 1953 with an objective to promote and conduct basic engineering and continuing technical education program for human resource development and to bring out quality publication for all levels of leadership. As part of holistic learning and updating the students with the latest technological advancements, Mahakal Group of Institutes has constituted a Students Forum of Institution of Electronics and Communication Engineers (IETE). It has nearly 85 members on its rolls. The Institution organizes various technical and professional activities at different levels. Prof Shitij Joshi is the co-coordinator of this forum. The Forum has following objectives:

Major Objectives

  • Promote and conduct basic engineering and continuing technical education program for human resource development.
  • Provide a forum for discussion on national policies and to provide suitable inputs to policy makers.
  • Organize Conference, Symposia and Workshop involving all concerned professionals, students and industry associations for the development of the Discipline.
  • Stimulate research and development in the Discipline.
  • Bring out quality publication for all level of leadership.
  • Honor outstanding professionals.
  • Facilitate inter-disciplinary interaction with other organizations and individuals for the promotion of the Discipline.

The IETE proposes to establish IETE Students Forum in Engineering College / University and Polytechnic in the Country, through a massive membership drive in these institutions. IETE Students Forums play a useful and stimulating role by

  • improving the standard of education
  • counselling the students in the emerging new opportunities
  • encouraging outside-the-classroom studies / practical work / seminars etc
  • better employment of the students on completion of their courses
